DEPARTMENT OF ARTHERAPY “ANOTHER SYSTEM” - PALERMO 2009

Mimmo Di Caterino, that has conceived this project, considers it as a ‘Curative Site’. LEA, administrator of the event, call it ‘Cultural Department’. Someone imagines it as a ‘Mine’, to draw talents from; no matter how you call it: this is a little, lost, authentic locus of art.


Meaning of the project: the group aims to organize a collective exhibition of works of artists not politically engaged, free in their thoughts, with no masters to serve.
The event will not use the usual channels, will not use public founds, will not have any help from art dealers or academicians or people just looking for prays to use or overuse.
LEA is very interested and curious of the artists’ world without being part of it and her interest and curiosity are used to make the exhibition work well; so she will be in “ordinary leave” from her job to be able to look after the exhibition during the days of its occurrence.
The main desire of the group is that every artist, barred from circuits or living in isolated parts of our Planet, could express his talent finding a place and a voice for his free expression.

40 or more artists, in relation to the spaces in concession.

Kind of works:
Painting, sculpture, drawing or other expressive form, in every multimedial appearance.

Works must be sent not later than 31/12/2008
